New York State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-C-Rome, and Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. have announced their collaboration in hosting a roundtable discussion focused on artificial intelligence (AI). The event, open to the public, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at the Mohawk Valley Community College Rome Campus.

Sen. Griffo highlighted the importance of the discussion, stating, “The use of artificial intelligence is becoming more and more common.” He expressed gratitude to Picente Jr. and the panelists for their participation in what promises to be an informative session on the emerging technology.

Picente Jr. echoed the sentiment, acknowledging the significance of AI in today’s society. He emphasized the need for a thorough exploration of the potential benefits and drawbacks of AI, noting, “AI has the potential to significantly improve many areas of our lives, but we must tread carefully as we explore its capabilities and the negative aspects that could arise.”

The roundtable will feature a distinguished panel of experts, including Anthony Martino, Charles Green, Dr. Andy Drozd, and Stephen J. Acquario. The panelists will delve into various aspects of artificial intelligence, addressing its definition, benefits, drawbacks, and other related topics.

As the public grapples with the increasing presence of AI in daily life, the roundtable aims to educate and engage attendees in a robust discussion about the implications of this transformative technology.
