Assemblyman Brian Miller, representing New Hartford, successfully passed a resolution today, designating March as Maple Month in New York. The state, being the second-largest maple syrup producer in the U.S., takes pride in its maple industry, which holds the prestigious position of being the first crop harvested annually. The economic impact of maple products in New York is substantial, with the industry valued at an impressive $31.3 million.

In a statement, Assemblyman Miller expressed his appreciation for the tradition of maple production in the state, saying, "There are many things to celebrate and appreciate when it comes to the rich tradition of maple production in our state, and I am honored to declare March as Pure New York State Maple Month.
