There were two gas stations in cities across Oneida County selling midgrade gas at the lowest price of $4.19 per gallon in the week ending Aug. 5, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of midgrade gas in cities within Oneida County was $4.32 per gallon.

There are 65 gas stations in cities within Oneida County.

The average price of midgrade gas in New York was $4.25, compared to $4.14 the week before.

The U.S. government missed the mark when forecasting gas prices for 2022. A short-term outlook published early in 2022 claimed gas rates would fall, when in fact gas rates rose significantly.

The outlook once again suggested that prices would fall in 2023.
