On Sunday, June 1, 2025, cancer survivors, along with their families and friends, will join employees, medical staff, and volunteers of the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Cancer Center for the annual National Cancer Survivors Day Brunch. The event will be hosted at the Roselawn Banquet Facility at 446 Main Street, New York Mills, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cancer survivors can attend for free and are welcome to bring guests, for whom the cost is $25 each.

Those interested in attending must make reservations by Friday, May 23, 2025, either online at bit.ly/survivorsday-2025 or by calling 315-624-5705.

Alicia DeTraglia, MD, a physician with the MVHS Oncology Department, stated, “Our employees look forward to the Survivors Day Celebration because it is a chance for us to be with our patients and see how well they are doing. Cancer touches everyone and these patients have touched our lives in so many ways. We love getting together with them to celebrate their personal triumphs over cancer.”

The event, sponsored by MVHS, coincides with a global celebration for National Cancer Survivors Day. It aims to connect those living with cancer history, including America’s 18 million survivors, to celebrate milestones and appreciate their supporters. Extravagant baskets, donated by MVHS employees, will be raffled at the brunch. Participation is open to all regional survivors, regardless of whether they have used MVHS services.

The event highlights advancements in cancer research and treatment and honors the strength of cancer survivors, as well as the support provided by their families, friends, and healthcare providers.
