Investigator Ed Constantine and Sergeant Aaron Avard participated in the New York State Crisis Intervention Team Program Kick-Off meeting and training held in Clifton Park, New York, on February 25th and 26th. The event brought together various stakeholders, including members of the Oneida County Office of Mental Health and representatives from the City of Utica Police Department Crisis Intervention Team.

The two-day workshop focused on advancing crisis intervention strategies across participating agencies. These programs were initially supported by a New York State Senate initiative but are now funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health. Funding for 2026 will be directed toward developing or enhancing Crisis Intervention Team programs in Allegany, Dutchess, Madison, and Oneida Counties.
