New York State Senator Joseph Griffo recently welcomed New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) Chairwoman Lily Fan to Oneida County. The visit also included SLA Executive Director Bill Crowley.

The invitation from Senator Griffo aimed to facilitate interaction between Chairwoman Fan and representatives from various local businesses and organizations, including restaurants, bars, breweries, wineries, distilleries, and liquor stores. The meeting provided a platform for these stakeholders to express their concerns and experiences with the SLA.

Chairwoman Fan’s itinerary included meetings with local elected officials such as Assemblyman Brian Miller, Assemblyman Robert Smullen, and Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon. Additionally, she toured the F.X. Matt Brewing Company in Utica and visited Bremer’s Wine & Liquor in New Hartford.

Senator Griffo expressed gratitude for Chairwoman Fan’s visit: “I thank Chairwoman Fan for accepting my invitation to visit the 53rd Senate District and her willingness to hear directly from those who are affected by the SLA,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of government accessibility and dialogue in ensuring that state agencies understand the impact of their policies on residents.
