New York State Senator Joseph Griffo, along with the New York State Senate Republican Conference, has introduced a new legislative agenda titled “Liberate New York.” This plan aims to address issues stemming from what they describe as one-party control in the state. The agenda sets forth policy goals for 2025, focusing on improving quality of life and reversing trends of outmigration that have been observed since 2020.

Senator Griffo emphasized the negative impact of current policies, stating that they have led to high taxes and regulations, which he believes are driving residents away. He described the new agenda as a “common sense” approach intended to create a more affordable and safer environment for New Yorkers.

The “Liberate New York” agenda outlines several key objectives: enhancing affordability and economic opportunities, ensuring public safety, resolving the migrant crisis, protecting students’ rights while defending parental authority, and promoting government accountability.

“As a result of one-party control and the leadership of the legislative majorities and governor over the last several years, we have seen a mass exodus of New Yorkers,” Sen. Griffo said. “They are fleeing because of problematic, flawed and out-of-touch policies that have resulted in burdensome taxes, mandates and regulations.”

Senator Griffo further explained that their proposals aim to assist struggling families by strengthening various sectors such as economy, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and public safety. He expressed confidence that these measures would make New York more affordable and robust.
