Registered nurses at Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS), represented by the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA), have approved a new contract that will remain in effect until December 31, 2027.

“This contract will support our ongoing efforts to recruit and retain top nursing talent while ensuring the highest quality care for our patients,” said Darlene Stromstad, FACHE, president and CEO of MVHS. She expressed satisfaction with the agreement, noting its potential to provide competitive benefits and opportunities for nurses.

Stromstad also emphasized the importance of the contract in combining the efforts of nurses from St. Luke’s and St. Elizabeth hospitals under one agreement. “This is a historic milestone for our organization. It reflects our collective progress as we move forward together in the Wynn Hospital and across our community sites.”

Negotiations for this agreement began in November 2024. MVHS acknowledged the NYSNA bargaining team for their commitment and cooperation in finalizing the contract and their unwavering focus on patient care.
