Oneida County Sheriff reports arrest in Rome stolen vehicle case

A City of Rome woman was arrested on May 17 following a stolen motor vehicle complaint, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol on June 4.

On May 15, members of the Road Patrol Division responded to an address in the City of Rome regarding a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Deputies learned that the victim’s white 2009 Nissan Maxima had been taken.

The case was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Unit. As a result, Kimberly E. Guzman, age 26, of Rome, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, which is classified as a D felony. Guzman was processed at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building and then turned over to the Oneida County Correctional Facility for centralized arraignment.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office received assistance during this investigation from the City of Rome Police Department.
