A Remsen man was arrested after a complaint of suspicious activity, Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol said on April 28. The incident involved damage to a vehicle and trespassing at a property in the Town of Remsen.

The case began on April 24 when road patrol deputies responded to a possible criminal mischief complaint. The victim reported that his neighbor had broken his truck window and was seen on his property. According to the sheriff’s office, the victim provided documentation showing damages exceeding $250.

Due to the felony level of the alleged offense, the Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case. Trevor Burns, age 24, of Remsen was arrested at the scene. He faces charges including criminal mischief in the third degree, classified as an E Felony, and trespass, which is considered a violation.

Burns was transported to the Law Enforcement Building where he was booked before being taken to CAP court for arraignment that night. He is currently held at Oneida County Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings in Town of Remsen Court.

The sheriff’s office said additional updates will be provided as necessary.
