A man from the Town of Verona was arrested on several felony warrants after a dispute at a residence on State Route 31, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
On November 24, 2025, around 10:15 p.m., deputies responded to a call about an ongoing dispute. Upon arrival, they identified one of the individuals involved as Patrick Higgins, age 36. Higgins was wanted by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office for Burglary in the Second Degree, classified as a Class C Felony. He was also sought by the New York State Police on additional felony charges.
Higgins initially refused to leave the residence. Deputies set up a perimeter and called in negotiators from the sheriff’s office. After negotiations, Higgins surrendered at approximately 1:00 a.m. and was taken into custody without incident.
Sheriff Maciol stated, “According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Town of Verona man was arrested on multiple Felony Warrants in the Town of Verona.”
Higgins is being held at the Oneida County Jail and will appear in Oneida County Court. The response included members of the Road Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Unit, OCSO Negotiators, and support from the New York State Police.
