Rome Health recently honored its certified nurses for their expertise in various specialties. Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Clinical Services, Ashley Edwards, expressed the significance of national certification, stating it reflects a commitment to excellence, lifelong learning, and high standards of patient care. “Their specialized knowledge and leadership contribute to improved outcomes, a stronger nursing profession, and a positive practice environment,” Edwards noted.

Nurses recognized for their board certifications include AnneMarie Czyz in Administration; Dawn Bereza, Suzanne Marra, Teresa Troia in Continuum of Care; Gayle Bankert, William Durfee in the Emergency Department; Rhonda Moran in Endoscopy; Brenda Onderko in ICU; Mary Friot in Infection Prevention; Christina Benn, Yelena Brutskaya, Jennifer Hammers, Danielle Mudge, Alana Roberts in Maternity; Kelly Pietryka, Jennifer Shepherd in Medical Imaging; Ashley Edwards in Nursing Administration; Tracy Hilderbran from the Nursing Office; Raine Visalli from the Operating Room; Maureen Stell from PACU; Michelle Bates, Rachel Gubbins, Gregory Myers, Sara Myers, Darlene Skidmore in Professional Development; Stacey Macdonald in Performance Improvement; Kristen Beckwith and Lauren Kinney from Medical/Surgical.

Edwards also expressed gratitude towards the nurses: “Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and passion for nursing. We are honored to celebrate our National Certified Nurses today and look forward to advancing our profession together.”

Several Rome Health nurses were specifically acknowledged on Certified Nurses Day for their specialty expertise. Among them were Rachel Gubbins, Darlene Skidmore, and Ashley Edwards.

Rome Health is a non-profit healthcare system based in Rome, New York. It provides comprehensive medical services across Central New York through primary care to long-term care facilities. The organization is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Health and serves as a clinical site for New York Medical College.
