CLAUDIA TENNEY FOR CONGRESS: Syracuse police investigate shooting outside South Side gas station

Claudia Tenney for Congress issued the following announcement on April 6.

 Syracuse police are investigating a shooting Monday night outside a South Side gas station, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center.

The city’s shot spotter notified 911 of several shots fired at 10:35 p.m. near the Blue Star gas station, at 1410 S. Salina St. A short time later, someone called 911 to report hearing multiple shots fired in the area, according to police dispatches.

Shortly after officers arrived, someone contacted 911 to say a shooting victim had arrived in a private vehicle at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, dispatchers said.

Syracuse police have not yet commented on the shooting or the victim’s injuries, but according to police dispatches, a man in his 30s was shot in the right leg.

Police are continuing to investigate.
