According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on November 10, 2022, at about 0355 PM, Deputies responded to Turin Rd in the Town of Lee for a reported two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Jason Nellenback (21) of West Leyden, NY was operating a brown 2012 GMC SUV South on Turin Rd. Due to failure to maintain lane, Nellenback’s vehicle crossed the double-solid center lines and struck a dark-grey 2016 Subaru SUV operated by Eleanor Kaido (88) of West Leyden, NY head-on who was traveling North on Turin Rd. Nellenback’s vehicle continued off the Eastern shoulder of the roadway striking a guide rail before coming to rest.
Nellenback was transported to Rome Hospital for head and neck pain. Kaido was also transported to Rome Hospital for chest pain. Nellenback was issued a citation for Failure To Keep Right returnable to Lee Town Court at a later date.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Lee Center Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance, and the New York State Police.
