The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) has been recognized by the Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) as a recipient of the 2024 Supply Chains of Distinction Award. This award acknowledges hospitals and health systems in North America that excel in supply chain management, innovation, and resilience.

Michael Fegley, director of Materials Management at MVHS, expressed his gratitude for the recognition: “It’s a tremendous honor to receive this Supply Chains of Distinction Award from GHX, and a true testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire team at MVHS. This recognition wouldn’t be possible without their tireless efforts, and I’m incredibly proud to share this achievement with each and every one of them.”

The award is based on "perfect order" metrics which evaluate purchase order lines sent across the GHX Exchange that are touchless and fully automated from purchase through payment.

Tina Vatanka Murphy, President and CEO of GHX, highlighted MVHS's role in advancing healthcare supply chains: “With the significant transformation taking place across the healthcare ecosystem, organizations such as MVHS are at the forefront of integrating automation and data-driven solutions into their supply chain operations. This commitment to innovation not only streamlines processes but also contributes to improved patient outcomes and advances health equity.”

Award recipients will be honored at the 2025 GHX Summit scheduled for May 13-16 in Atlanta, Georgia. The complete list of winners is available on GHX's website.

MVHS serves central New York with various healthcare services through its facilities including Wynn Hospital, which opened in October 2023. The hospital aims to address most community healthcare needs while offering specialized services like cardiac care and stroke treatment.
