Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a burglary at Waterville Junior/Senior High School, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol. The incident took place on November 28, 2025, and was discovered when school officials returned from Thanksgiving break on December 1. Upon arrival, staff found a classroom window broken and damage to the school’s concession stand.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Patrol division, Forensic Identification Unit, and Juvenile Aid Unit responded to investigate the scene. School security camera footage was reviewed, which led to the identification of two fifteen-year-old male suspects from the area. The investigation benefited from cooperation with the school community.
Sheriff Maciol stated that one of the juveniles faces two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree, classified as a class E felony. Both teens have also been charged with two counts each of burglary in the third degree (a class D felony), petit larceny (a class A misdemeanor), and criminal tampering in the third degree (a class B misdemeanor).
All stolen property has been recovered and returned to the school undamaged. Due to their ages, authorities will not release the names of those involved. After being issued appearance tickets referring them to Oneida County Probation at a future date, both juveniles were released into their parents’ custody.
