The City of Utica has announced a new paving program for the fiscal year 2025–26, aiming to address road conditions and enhance the longevity of its infrastructure. The initiative will involve several contracts focused on immediate repairs and preventive maintenance, reflecting the city’s commitment to maintaining high standards in road construction.

Mayor Michael P. Galime emphasized that this effort goes beyond simple repairs: “We’re not just patching potholes,” he stated. He highlighted that the program is part of a broader strategy aimed at ensuring quality, safety, and long-term value for residents and taxpayers.

The plan includes comprehensive measures from material selection to contractor oversight. Mayor Galime assured citizens that these steps are integral to executing the work effectively: “From material selection to contractor oversight, every step of this program is rooted in a commitment to doing the job right the first time,” he said. “We want Utica residents to know their city is spending wisely.”

Residents can expect updates regarding construction timelines and potential traffic disruptions during the summer and fall paving seasons. The city seeks public cooperation as crews undertake these improvements.

For further inquiries, residents are encouraged to contact the Mayor’s office at (315)792-0100.
