According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Town of Vernon man was arrested after a physical domestic dispute.
At approximately 3:00 AM on May 8, 2022, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Unit responded to an assault complaint which occurred at a residence in the Town of Vernon. During the investigation, it was learned that the victim sustained a broken nose and that there was an active order of protection in place. During the investigation, the Road Patrol Unit was assisted by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit. At approximately 1:15 PM on today’s date, the Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Gavin I. Becraft, age 20. Becraft was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and arrested for Assault in the Third Degree, an A Misdemeanor and Aggravated Criminal Contempt a D Felony.
Becraft was held at the Oneida County Jail pending an arraignment in CAP Court.
