Oneida County 4-H Youth Development, New York - Seybold-Guth Scholarship

206

Congratulations to this year’s recipient of the Seybold-Guth Scholarship; Hailey Smith of West Leyden.  Hailey is a 2021 graduate of Adirondack High School where she was involved in many activities such as soccer, basketball, softball, Math Honor Society and National Honor Society.  As a ten-year member of the Oneida County 4-H Horse Program Hailey gives credit to her first 4-H club, the Foothills 4-H Saddle Club, for introducing to her to horses and fueling her passion for them.

The Seybold-Guth Scholarship was developed in memory of long-time Oneida County Horse Program Coordinator, Audrey Seybold and 4-H supporter and owner of Ski Hi Ranch, Raymond Guth.  Both individuals shared a love of horses and were firmly convinced of the positive effect that a horse can have in molding the character of youth.  In remembrance, the Seybold-Guth Scholarship was created for Oneida County 4-H youth who are extremely active in the Oneida County 4-H Horse Program.
