Cost of college went up for all students at Hamilton College

Tuition and fees rose 3.5 percent for 2018-19 at Hamilton College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York students paid $54,620 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,850 more than the $52,770 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 65 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 299 students received grants or scholarships totaling $11.9 million and 194 students took out student loans totaling more than $960,378.

Including all undergraduates (2,005), 1,049 students used grants or scholarships totaling $43.3 million, and 634 students took out $3.3 million in federal student loans.
